Scope

This policy applies to information we collect online on beyondthedestination.com and any BTDT pages that collect leads or bookings (including tour-director.beyondthedestination.com), and to our email/SMS communications. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.

• Information you provide: name, email, phone number, language preferences, itinerary details, group size, travel dates, messages you send us, and your selections on our forms (including the SMS consent checkbox). If you pay for services, payment details are processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
• Automatically collected: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, and basic analytics/cookie data needed to run and secure our sites.
• From service providers: contact and communication data synchronized through our CRM and messaging vendors when you interact with us.

How we use information

• Provide quotes, itineraries, bookings, customer support, and operational updates.

SMS / Text Messaging

With your explicit consent (via a required, unchecked checkbox next to the phone field), BTDT may send you text messages (SMS) about booking confirmations, schedule changes, and customer support. Message & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel; HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. We record your opt-in status, the consent timestamp, and the source page URL in our CRM.

Legal bases for processing (EU/UK)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: (i) contract (to provide quotes/bookings), (ii) consent (for SMS and optional marketing), (iii) legitimate interests (site security, service improvement), and (iv) legal obligations.

How we share information

• Service providers (processors): We use reputable vendors only to operate our services—for example, Zoho CRM (customer data and forms), Twilio (SMS), website hosting, analytics, and payment processing. They may process data solely to provide these services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
• Legal/Compliance: If required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction (e.g., merger), subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell or trade personal information. We also do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law.
